# Create record comment

> Create a comment or reply on an Airtable record.

`airtable.createRecordComment` creates a top-level comment or threaded reply.

import { airtable } from "automate.ax/airtable"

export default automation("Comment on Airtable record", () => {
  airtable.createRecordComment({
    baseId: "app123",
    table: "Contacts",
    recordId: "rec123",
    text: "Ready for review",
  })
})
```

`baseId`, `table`, `recordId`, and `text` are required. `parentCommentId` creates a reply. Airtable mentions use `@[userId]` in `text`. Returns the created comment. Requires `data.recordComments:write` and commenter access.
