# On field updated

> Run when Airtable changes a field definition.

`airtable.onFieldUpdated` provides current and previous field definition values.

import { automation } from "automate.ax"
import { airtable } from "automate.ax/airtable"

export default automation("Track Airtable field updates", () => {
  const event = airtable.onFieldUpdated({ baseId: "app123" })
  // Reconcile the updated Airtable field.
})
```

`baseId` is required; `account` defaults to the project binding. The event includes changed `current` and optional `previous` name/type values plus common Airtable event fields. Requires `webhook:manage` and `schema.bases:read`.
