# Add session file

> Mounts a previously uploaded Anthropic file into a session.

`anthropic.addSessionFile` mounts a previously uploaded Anthropic file into a session.

## Example

```ts automations/anthropic-add-session-file.automation.ts theme={null}
import { automation, onInvocation, withPrerequisites } from "automate.ax"
import { anthropic } from "automate.ax/anthropic"

export default automation("Add session file", () => {
  withPrerequisites(onInvocation(), () => {
    anthropic.addSessionFile({
      sessionId: "session-id",
      type: "file",
      fileId: "file-id",
    })
  })
})
```

## Inputs

Requires `sessionId`, `type: "file"`, and `fileId`. `mountPath` defaults under `/mnt/session/uploads`. Inputs use public camelCase names and accept signals.

## Output and behavior

Returns the attached file resource.

Anthropic requests time out before the action lease and provider mutations are not retried after an uncertain response unless stated otherwise.
