# Archive session thread

> Archives one child thread in a Claude multi-agent session.

`anthropic.archiveSessionThread` archives one child thread in a Claude multi-agent session.

## Example

```ts automations/anthropic-archive-session-thread.automation.ts theme={null}
import { automation, onInvocation, withPrerequisites } from "automate.ax"
import { anthropic } from "automate.ax/anthropic"

export default automation("Archive session thread", () => {
  withPrerequisites(onInvocation(), () => {
    anthropic.archiveSessionThread({
      sessionId: "session-id",
      threadId: "thread-id",
    })
  })
})
```

## Inputs

Requires `sessionId` and `threadId`. Inputs use public camelCase names and accept signals.

## Output and behavior

Returns the archived thread.

Anthropic requests time out before the action lease and provider mutations are not retried after an uncertain response unless stated otherwise.
