# Interrupt session

> Interrupts active Claude execution.

`anthropic.interruptSession` interrupts active Claude execution.

## Example

```ts automations/anthropic-interrupt-session.automation.ts theme={null}
import { automation, onInvocation, withPrerequisites } from "automate.ax"
import { anthropic } from "automate.ax/anthropic"

export default automation("Interrupt session", () => {
  withPrerequisites(onInvocation(), () => {
    anthropic.interruptSession({ sessionId: "session-id" })
  })
})
```

## Inputs

Requires `sessionId`. Omit `sessionThreadId` to interrupt every non-archived thread, or provide it to interrupt one child thread. Inputs use public camelCase names and accept signals.

## Output and behavior

Returns the accepted interrupt event.

Anthropic requests time out before the action lease and provider mutations are not retried after an uncertain response unless stated otherwise.
