# Create list

> Create a named Apollo contact or account list.

`createList` creates a list for exactly one Apollo record type.

```ts automations/create-apollo-list.automation.ts theme={null}
import { automation, onHttpRequest } from "automate.ax"
import { createList } from "automate.ax/apollo"

export default automation("Create an Apollo target list", () => {
  onHttpRequest({ scope: "automation" })
  createList({ name: "2026 Targets", recordType: "accounts" })
})
```

`name` and `recordType: "contacts" | "accounts"` are required.
`bookOfBusiness?: boolean` is available only for account lists. Optional
`account` selects the Apollo binding. Returns the created `ApolloList`.
