# Add task to project

> Add an existing Asana task to a project and optionally position it.

`addTaskToProject` creates another project membership without copying the task.

```ts automations/add-asana-task-to-project.automation.ts theme={null}
import { automation, onHttpRequest } from "automate.ax"
import { addTaskToProject } from "automate.ax/asana"
export default automation("Add task to Asana project", () => {
  onHttpRequest({ scope: "automation" })
  addTaskToProject({
    taskId: "task-gid",
    projectId: "project-gid",
    sectionId: "section-gid",
  })
})
```

`taskId` and `projectId` are required. Optional `sectionId` chooses a destination section. Optional `insertAfterTaskId` or `insertBeforeTaskId` controls order; supply at most one. Optional `account` defaults to the project binding.

Returns `Signal<void>`. The task remains in any other projects.
