# Create custom field

> Create a custom-field definition in an Asana workspace.

`asana.createCustomField` creates a custom-field definition in an Asana workspace.

```ts automations/asana-create-custom-field.automation.ts theme={null}
import { automation, onDashboardRun } from "automate.ax"
import { asana } from "automate.ax/asana"
export default automation("Create custom field", () => {
  onDashboardRun({ title: "Create custom field" })
  asana.createCustomField({
    workspaceId: "workspace-gid",
    name: "Priority",
    subtype: "enum",
    enumOptions: [
      { name: "High", color: "red" },
      { name: "Normal", color: "blue" },
    ],
  })
})
```

Provide `workspaceId`, `name`, and `subtype`. `enum` and `multi_enum` fields also require at least one `enumOptions` entry with a name and optional color or enabled state. Other optional formatting inputs are `description`, `format`, `precision`, `currencyCode`, and `customLabel`. Optional second argument `{ account }` selects a named Asana binding.

Returns the created custom field. Use the enum-option actions after creating an `enum` or `multi_enum` field.
