# Get task

> Get complete normalized metadata for an Asana task.

`getTask` loads one task by GID, including assignments, project memberships, schedule, followers, descriptions, and custom fields.

```ts automations/get-asana-task.automation.ts theme={null}
import { automation, onHttpRequest } from "automate.ax"
import { getTask } from "automate.ax/asana"
export default automation("Get Asana task", () => {
  onHttpRequest({ scope: "automation" })
  getTask({ taskId: "task-gid" })
})
```

`taskId` is required; optional `account` defaults to the project binding. Returns `Signal<AsanaTask>`. Optional provider fields remain absent, timestamps remain strings, and `customFields` preserves provider-native JSON entries.
