# Update custom field

> Update an Asana custom-field definition.

`asana.updateCustomField` update an Asana custom-field definition.

import { automation, onDashboardRun } from "automate.ax"
import { asana } from "automate.ax/asana"

export default automation("Update custom field", () => {
  onDashboardRun({ title: "Update custom field" })
  asana.updateCustomField({
    customFieldId: "custom-field-gid",
    name: "Severity",
  })
})
```

Provide `customFieldId` and at least one of `name`, `description`, `format`, `precision`, `currencyCode`, or `customLabel`. Optional second argument `{ account }` selects a named Asana binding.

Returns the updated custom field.
