> ## Agent Instructions
> Automate.ax automations are TypeScript programs.
> Use Bun for installation and command examples.
> Use Automate.ax for the product name and automate.ax for the package, CLI, and domain.
> Treat documented public APIs as current; do not invent transitional or deprecated names.

# Get execution

> Get one Automate.ax execution and its logical attempt history.

`automate.getExecution` returns one execution with its decoded events, emitted outputs, actions, and durable logical attempts.

```ts automations/get-execution.automation.ts theme={null}
import { automation } from "automate.ax"
import { automate } from "automate.ax/automate"
export default automation("Inspect execution", () => {
  automate.getExecution({
    automation: "auto_123",
    executionId: "actx_123",
  })
})
```

`automation` accepts an imported automation descriptor, exact ID, or unique deployed description. Each action includes status, replay safety, maximum attempts, normalized failure, and attempts ordered by logical ordinal. Attempts contain status, start and completion times, nullable retry time, and normalized failure. Event payloads, action outputs, and emitted output data are decoded before the action returns.

The complete result is treated as sensitive because stored execution payloads can contain customer data. The action requires `project:read`.
