# Start time entry

> Starts a timer for the connected ClickUp user.

`clickUp.startTimeEntry` starts a timer for the connected ClickUp user.

## Inputs

`workspaceId`; optional task, description, billable state, and tag names. Every action accepts an optional static `account` binding.

## Output

Returns the running `ClickUpTimeEntry`. An empty provider location is normalized to an absent `taskLocation`.
