# Update contact

> Update a Close contact.

`close.updateContact` update a Close contact.

```ts automations/close-update-contact.automation.ts theme={null}
import { automation, onDashboardRun } from "automate.ax"
import { close } from "automate.ax/close"

export default automation("Update contact", () => {
  onDashboardRun({ title: "Update contact" })
  close.updateContact({ contactId: "cont_abc123", title: "VP Sales" })
})
```

## Inputs

Provide `contactId` and at least one mutable contact field. Set nullable fields to `null` to clear them. Optional second argument `{ account }` selects a named Close binding.

## Output

Returns the updated `CloseContact`.
