# Update DNS record

> Overwrites one DNS record.

`cloudflare.updateDnsRecord` overwrites one DNS record.

import { cloudflare } from "automate.ax/cloudflare"

export default automation("Update DNS record", () => {
  onDashboardRun({ title: "Update DNS record" })
  cloudflare.updateDnsRecord({
    zoneId: "zone-id",
    recordId: "record-id",
    type: "A",
    name: "www.example.com",
    content: "192.0.2.2",
  })
})
```

Provide the zone and record IDs plus the complete record type, name, and content or data. Optional second argument `{ account }` selects a static project account binding.

Returns the updated record.
