# Ban member

> Ban a user from a Discord server.

`discord.banMember` ban a user from a Discord server.

## Inputs

Required server and user IDs. `deleteMessageSeconds` defaults to 0 and may be 0–604,800; optional audit-log `reason`. Optional second argument `{ account }` selects the Discord binding.

## Output

Returns no value.

## Discord behavior

Requires `BAN_MEMBERS`, and the bot's highest role must outrank an existing member.
