# Create role

> Create a Discord server role.

`discord.createRole` create a Discord server role.

export default automation("Create role", () => {
  onHttpRequest({ scope: "automation" })
  discord.createRole({
    guildId: "123456789012345678",

    permissions: "2048",
  })
})
```

## Inputs

Required `guildId` and `name`. Optional decimal `permissions`, `color`, `hoist`, `mentionable`, and audit-log `reason`. Optional second argument `{ account }` selects the Discord binding.

## Output

Returns the created `DiscordRole`.

## Discord behavior

Requires `MANAGE_ROLES`. Discord creates the role at the bottom of the bot-manageable hierarchy.
