# List roles

> List every role in a Discord server.

`discord.listRoles` list every role in a Discord server.

```ts automations/discord-list-roles.automation.ts theme={null}
import { automation, onHttpRequest } from "automate.ax"
import { discord } from "automate.ax/discord"

export default automation("List roles", () => {
  onHttpRequest({ scope: "automation" })
  discord.listRoles({ guildId: "123456789012345678" })
})
```

## Inputs

Required `guildId`. Optional second argument `{ account }` selects the Discord binding.

## Output

Returns `DiscordRole[]`, including the everyone role and managed roles.

## Discord behavior

Role `permissions` is a decimal permission-value string; keep it as a string.
