# Send message

> Send a text message to a Discord channel or thread.

`discord.sendMessage` send a text message to a Discord channel or thread.

## Inputs

Required `channelId` and 1–2,000 character `content`. Optional `tts` and `suppressEmbeds`. Optional second argument `{ account }` selects the Discord binding.

## Output

Returns the created `DiscordMessage`.

## Discord behavior

Requires `SEND_MESSAGES`; threads also require `SEND_MESSAGES_IN_THREADS`. Create requests are not automatically replayed.
