# Set channel permission

> Create or replace a Discord channel permission overwrite.

`discord.setChannelPermission` creates or replaces one role or member permission overwrite.

## Inputs

Required `channelId`, affected role or user `overwriteId`, and `type` (`role` or `member`). Optional decimal permission-value strings `allow` and `deny` default to `"0"`; `reason` populates the audit log. Optional second argument `{ account }` selects the Discord binding.

## Output

Returns nothing after Discord stores the overwrite.

## Discord behavior

Requires `MANAGE_ROLES`. Decimal permission values are strings so they remain exact.
