# Update webhook

> Update a Discord webhook name, avatar, or channel.

`discord.updateWebhook` updates a Discord webhook name, avatar, or channel.

```ts automations/discord-update-webhook.automation.ts theme={null}
import { automation, onHttpRequest } from "automate.ax"
import { discord } from "automate.ax/discord"
export default automation("Update webhook", () => {
  onHttpRequest({ scope: "automation" })
  discord.updateWebhook({
    webhookId: "345678901234567890",
    name: "Deployment events",
  })
})
```

## Inputs

Required `webhookId`. Optional `name`, `avatarDataUri`, destination `channelId`, and audit-log `reason`; use `null` to clear the avatar. Names cannot contain `Discord` or `Clyde`, case-insensitively. Optional second argument `{ account }` selects the Discord binding.

## Output

Returns the updated `DiscordWebhook` without its token or executable URL.

## Discord behavior

Requires `MANAGE_WEBHOOKS`; moving a webhook requires access to both channels.
