# Create GitHub issue comment

> Add a Markdown comment to a GitHub issue or pull request.

`createGitHubIssueComment` adds a conversation comment to an issue or pull request.

```ts automations/comment-on-github-issue.automation.ts theme={null}
import { automation } from "automate.ax"
import {
  createGitHubIssueComment,
  onGitHubIssueOpened,
} from "automate.ax/github"
export default automation("Welcome GitHub issues", () => {
  const event = onGitHubIssueOpened()
  createGitHubIssueComment({
    owner: event.repository.owner.login,
    repository: event.repository.name,
    issueNumber: event.issue.number,
    body: "Thanks for the report!",
  })
})
```

`owner`, `repository`, positive integer `issueNumber`, and non-empty Markdown `body` are required. Optional `account` defaults to the project binding. Inputs accept compatible signals.

Returns GitHub's complete typed issue-comment object. The installation may use Issues write or Pull requests write permission, depending on the target.
