# Delete GitHub release asset

> Delete an asset attached to a GitHub release.

`github.deleteReleaseAsset` deletes one release asset.

import { automation } from "automate.ax"
import { github } from "automate.ax/github"

export default automation("Delete GitHub release asset", () => {
  github.deleteReleaseAsset({
    owner: "SentsCo",
    repository: "automate.ax",
    assetId: 987654,
  })
})
```

Provide the repository and `assetId` returned by `github.listReleaseAssets` or `github.uploadReleaseAsset`. Returns `{}` after deletion. Deleting an asset does not delete its release. Requires Contents write permission.
