# Get GitHub repository

> Get metadata for one GitHub repository.

`github.getRepository` returns repository metadata visible to the installation.

```ts automations/get-github-repository.automation.ts theme={null}
import { automation } from "automate.ax"
import { github } from "automate.ax/github"

export default automation("Get GitHub repository", () => {
  const repository = github.getRepository({
    owner: "SentsCo",
    repository: "automate.ax",
  })
})
```

Provide `owner` and `repository`. Optional second argument `{ account }` selects the GitHub binding. Returns the repository's `id`, `name`, and `full_name`. Requires Metadata read permission.
