# Update GitHub issue comment

> Replace a GitHub issue or pull request comment body.

`github.updateIssueComment` replaces one conversation comment's Markdown body.

```ts automations/update-github-comment.automation.ts theme={null}
import { automation } from "automate.ax"
import { github } from "automate.ax/github"
export default automation("Update GitHub comment", () => {
  github.updateIssueComment({
    body: "Deployment completed successfully.",
    commentId: 123456,
    owner: "SentsCo",
    repository: "automate.ax",
  })
})
```

Provide the repository, `commentId`, and non-empty Markdown `body`. Returns the comment's `id` and `body`. The installation must be allowed to edit the target comment and needs Issues write or Pull requests write permission.
