# On GitHub check run created

> Start an automation when GitHub creates a check run.

`github.onCheckRunCreated` starts an automation when a check run is created.

import { automation, t } from "automate.ax"
import { github } from "automate.ax/github"

export default automation("GitHub check run created", () => {
  const event = github.onCheckRunCreated()
  github.createIssue({
    owner: event.repository.owner.login,
    repository: event.repository.name,
    title: t`Check started: ${event.check_run.name}`,
  })
})
```

Returns the typed `check_run` payload with `action: "created"`. Requires Checks read permission.
