# On GitHub check run waiting

> Start an automation when a GitHub check run enters the waiting state.

`github.onCheckRunWaiting` emits when GitHub creates a check run with `check_run.status: "waiting"`, including GitHub Actions jobs awaiting deployment protection. It also preserves GitHub's documented completed payload variant with `check_run.conclusion: "waiting"`.

Optional static `account` defaults to the project binding. Returns the complete typed GitHub webhook payload narrowed to either the created waiting-status or completed waiting-conclusion variant. GitHub reserves the waiting status for GitHub Actions. Requires Checks read permission.
