# On GitHub deployment created

> Run when a GitHub deployment is created.

`github.onDeploymentCreated` emits deployment webhooks with `action: "created"`.

import { automation } from "automate.ax"
import { github } from "automate.ax/github"

export default automation("GitHub deployment created", () => {
  const event = github.onDeploymentCreated()
  // Update the GitHub deployment in the release dashboard.
})
```

Returns the full deployment, including ref, SHA, task, payload, environment, creator, repository, and installation. Use deployment-status triggers for subsequent lifecycle changes. Requires Deployments read permission.
