# On GitHub deployment status event

> Run for broad GitHub deployment status activity.

`github.onDeploymentStatusEvent` handles every delivered deployment status.

export default automation("Watch GitHub deployment status", () => {
  const event = github.onDeploymentStatusEvent()
  // Update the GitHub deployment in the release dashboard.

```

Returns the deployment and its new `deployment_status`, including state, environment, description, URLs, creator, and timestamps. GitHub does not emit this webhook for `inactive` statuses. Requires Deployments read permission.
