# On GitHub issue comment event

> Run for created, edited, or deleted GitHub issue comments.

`github.onIssueCommentEvent` handles broad conversation-comment activity on issues and pull requests.

```ts automations/watch-github-comments.automation.ts theme={null}
import { automation } from "automate.ax"
import { github } from "automate.ax/github"
export default automation("Watch GitHub comments", () => {
  const event = github.onIssueCommentEvent()
  // Send the GitHub issue comment to its owner.
})
```

Optional static `account` selects the GitHub binding. Returns GitHub's full `issue_comment` payload with `action` equal to `"created"`, `"edited"`, or `"deleted"`. Pull request conversation comments include a `pull_request` marker on `issue`; inline diff comments use the review-comment triggers. Requires Issues read permission.
