# On GitHub issue field added

> Run an automation when a GitHub issue has a field value set or updated.

`github.onIssueFieldAdded` emits issue events with action `"field_added"`.

```ts automations/watch-github-issue-field-added.automation.ts theme={null}
import { automation } from "automate.ax"
import { github } from "automate.ax/github"
export default automation("Watch GitHub issue field added", () => {
  const event = github.onIssueFieldAdded()
  // Sync the GitHub issue fields to the project tracker.
})
```

Optional static `account` defaults to the project binding. Returns the typed GitHub issue webhook payload with `action: "field_added"`, the required `issue_field`, the optional new `issue_field_value`, and the optional previous value under `changes.issue_field_value.from`. The installation needs Issues read permission and repository access.
