# On GitHub merge group checks requested

> Run when checks are requested for a merge group.

`github.onMergeGroupChecksRequested` subscribes to merge-group check requests.

export default automation("Watch GitHub merge group checks requested", () => {
  const event = github.onMergeGroupChecksRequested()

Optional static `account` defaults to the project binding. Returns typed GitHub `merge_group` payloads with `action: "checks_requested"`. Requires Merge queues read permission and repository access.
