# On GitHub pull request synchronized

> Start an automation when commits update a pull request's head branch.

`onGitHubPullRequestSynchronized` emits GitHub's `"synchronize"` action when the pull request's head changes, usually after commits are pushed or its branch is updated.

```ts automations/watch-github-pull-request-commits.automation.ts theme={null}
import { automation } from "automate.ax"
import { onGitHubPullRequestSynchronized } from "automate.ax/github"
export default automation("Watch GitHub pull request commits", () => {
  const event = onGitHubPullRequestSynchronized()
  event.transform(({ after, before, pull_request }) => ({
    after,
    before,
    pullRequest: pull_request.number,
  }))
})
```

Optional static `account` defaults to the project binding. Returns `Signal<GitHubPullRequestSynchronizedEvent>` with `action: "synchronize"`, `before`, `after`, and the complete typed pull request webhook payload.
