# On GitHub release edited

> Run an automation when a GitHub release is edited.

`github.onReleaseEdited` emits release events with action `"edited"`.

import { automation } from "automate.ax"
import { github } from "automate.ax/github"

export default automation("Watch GitHub release edited", () => {
  const event = github.onReleaseEdited()
  // Sync the GitHub release to the release record.
})
```

Optional static `account` defaults to the project binding. Returns the typed GitHub release webhook payload with `action: "edited"`. The installation needs Contents read permission and repository access.
