# On GitHub release released

> Run an automation when a GitHub release becomes a full release.

`github.onReleaseReleased` emits release events with action `"released"`.

```ts automations/watch-github-release-released.automation.ts theme={null}
import { automation } from "automate.ax"
import { github } from "automate.ax/github"

export default automation("Watch GitHub release released", () => {
  const event = github.onReleaseReleased()
  // Sync the GitHub release to the release record.
})
```

Optional static `account` defaults to the project binding. Returns the typed GitHub release webhook payload with `action: "released"`. The installation needs Contents read permission and repository access.
