# On GitHub workflow job waiting

> Run when a GitHub Actions workflow job waits for protection.

`github.onWorkflowJobWaiting` emits workflow jobs with `action: "waiting"`.

Waiting jobs are commonly blocked by environment protection or approval. Returns the job and associated deployment when GitHub supplies it. Requires Actions read permission.
