# On GitHub workflow run requested

> Start an automation when GitHub requests a workflow run.

`onGitHubWorkflowRunRequested` emits workflow-run deliveries whose action is `"requested"`.

```ts automations/watch-requested-github-workflows.automation.ts theme={null}
import { automation } from "automate.ax"
import { onGitHubWorkflowRunRequested } from "automate.ax/github"
export default automation("Watch requested GitHub workflows", () => {
  const event = onGitHubWorkflowRunRequested()
  event.transform(({ workflow_run }) => ({
    name: workflow_run.name,
    runId: workflow_run.id,
  }))
})
```

Optional static `account` defaults to the project binding. Returns `Signal<GitHubWorkflowRunRequestedEvent>` with `action: "requested"` and the complete typed workflow and run data. The installation needs Actions read permission.
