# Format text

> Apply text formatting to a document range.

`googleDocs.formatText` apply text formatting to a document range.

## Example

import { googleDocs } from "automate.ax/google-docs"

export default automation("Format text", () => {
  onDashboardRun({ title: "Format text" })
  googleDocs.formatText({
    document: "document-id",
    startIndex: 1,

```

## Inputs

Provide a range that starts at index 1 or later and at least one style: colors, bold, italic, underline, `strikethrough`, font family, font size, or `linkUrl`. Set `linkUrl: null` to remove a link. A second argument with `account` selects a Google Account.

## Output

Returns the document ID and resulting revision ID.
