# Insert text

> Insert text at a document index.

`googleDocs.insertText` insert text at a document index.

## Example

```ts theme={null}
import { automation, onDashboardRun } from "automate.ax"
import { googleDocs } from "automate.ax/google-docs"

export default automation("Insert text", () => {
  onDashboardRun({ title: "Insert text" })
  googleDocs.insertText({
    document: "document-id",
    index: 1,
    text: "Executive summary\n",
  })
})
```

## Inputs

Provide `document`, a positive `index`, and non-empty `text`. `tabId` and revision controls are optional. A second argument with `account` selects a Google Account.

## Output

Returns the document ID and resulting revision ID when Google provides it.
