# Update file

> Change a file's name, description, or starred state.

`googleDrive.updateFile` change a file's name, description, or starred state.

## Example

```ts theme={null}
import { automation, onDashboardRun } from "automate.ax"
import { googleDrive } from "automate.ax/google-drive"

export default automation("Update file", () => {
  onDashboardRun({ title: "Update file" })
  googleDrive.updateFile({ fileId: "file-id", starred: true })
})
```

## Inputs

Provide `fileId` and at least one of `name`, `description`, or `starred`. A second argument with `account` selects a Google Account.

## Output

Returns the updated file metadata.
