# Format text

> Apply formatting to text in a shape or table cell.

`googleSlides.formatText` apply formatting to text in a shape or table cell.

## Example

```ts theme={null}
import { automation, onDashboardRun } from "automate.ax"
import { googleSlides } from "automate.ax/google-slides"
export default automation("Format text", () => {
  onDashboardRun({ title: "Format text" })
  googleSlides.formatText({
    presentation: "presentation-id",
    objectId: "shape-1",
    bold: true,
    foregroundColor: "#1A73E8",
  })
})
```

## Inputs

Provide `presentation`, `objectId`, and at least one text style. Range and table-cell indexes are optional. When you set `endIndex`, it must be greater than `startIndex`; an omitted `startIndex` counts as 0. Colors use six-digit hex values. A second argument with `account` selects a Google Account.

## Output

Returns the presentation ID and resulting revision ID.
