# Create cycle

> Create a dated Linear cycle.

`linear.createCycle` creates a dated Linear cycle..

export default automation("Create cycle", () => {
  onDashboardRun({ title: "Create cycle" })
  linear.createCycle({
    teamId: "team-uuid",
    startsAt: "2026-09-01T00:00:00Z",
    endsAt: "2026-09-15T00:00:00Z",
  })
})
```

Provide `teamId`, `startsAt`, and `endsAt`. You can also set `name`, `description`, and `completedAt`. Returns the created `LinearCycle`. Optional second argument `{ account }` selects the Linear binding.
