# Get issue

> Get one Linear issue by UUID or human-readable identifier.

`getIssue` accepts identifiers such as `ENG-123`, which is convenient when consuming links or human input.

```ts automations/get-linear-issue.automation.ts theme={null}
import { automation, onHttpRequest } from "automate.ax"
import { getIssue } from "automate.ax/linear"
export default automation("Get Linear issue", () => {
  onHttpRequest({ scope: "automation" })
  getIssue({ issueId: "ENG-123" })
})
```

`issueId` is required; optional `account` defaults to the project binding. Returns the complete normalized `LinearIssue` with dates as `Date` values and `dueDate` as `YYYY-MM-DD | null`.
