# On attachment event

> Run an automation when Linear reports attachment changes.

`linear.onAttachmentEvent` handles attachment changes in the connected Linear workspace.

```ts automations/watch-linear-attachment.automation.ts theme={null}
import { automation } from "automate.ax"
import { linear } from "automate.ax/linear"
export default automation("On attachment event", () => {
  const event = linear.onAttachmentEvent()
  // Route the Linear attachment event by action.
})
```

Optional static `account` defaults to the project binding. Linear webhook triggers require an OAuth connection with read access. The workspace can't change at runtime.

## Trigger data

Returns a `Signal<LinearAttachmentTrigger>`:

```ts theme={null}
type LinearAttachmentTrigger = LinearAttachment & {
  event: LinearWebhookEvent<LinearAttachment, "create" | "update" | "remove">
}
interface LinearAttachment {
  archivedAt?: string | null
  createdAt: string
  creatorId?: string | null
  groupBySource: boolean
  id: string
  issueId: string
  metadata: Record<string, JSONValue>
  sourceType?: string | null
  subtitle?: string | null
  title: string
  updatedAt: string
  url: string
}
interface LinearWebhookEvent<TData, TAction extends string> {
  action: TAction
  actor?: LinearActor | null
  createdAt: string
  data: TData
  organizationId: string
  type: "Attachment"
  updatedFrom?: Record<string, JSONValue> | null
  url?: string | null
  webhookId: string
  webhookTimestamp: number
}
interface LinearActor {
  email?: string
  id?: string
  name?: string
  type?: string
  url?: string
}
```

`issueId` identifies the linked issue. `metadata` contains integration-defined JSON values. Resource objects and the webhook envelope retain extra Linear fields.
