# Clear flag

> Clear the follow-up flag from an Outlook message.

`clearFlag` sets an Outlook message's flag status to `notFlagged`.

```ts automations/clear-outlook-flag.automation.ts theme={null}
import { automation } from "automate.ax"
import { clearFlag } from "automate.ax/outlook"

export default automation("Clear Outlook flag", () => {
  clearFlag({ messageId: "AAMkAGI2..." })
})
```

Required `messageId` identifies the message and optional `account` selects the
binding. Returns the updated `OutlookMessage` with `flag.status: "notFlagged"`.
