# Create category

> Creates and returns an Outlook master category.

`outlook.createCategory` creates and returns an Outlook master category.

## Example

```ts automations/outlook-create-category.automation.ts theme={null}
import { automation } from "automate.ax"
import { outlook } from "automate.ax/outlook"

export default automation("Create category", () => {
  outlook.createCategory({ displayName: "Customers", color: "preset0" })
})
```

## Inputs

Pass `{ displayName: "Customers", color: "preset0" }`. The optional second argument `{ account }` selects a Microsoft binding.

## Output

Creates and returns an Outlook master category.

Microsoft Graph requires the scopes declared by the action. IDs are opaque and should be passed through unchanged.
