# Create Inbox rule

> Creates and returns an Inbox rule.

`outlook.createMessageRule` creates and returns an Inbox rule.

## Example

```ts automations/outlook-create-message-rule.automation.ts theme={null}
import { automation } from "automate.ax"
import { outlook } from "automate.ax/outlook"

export default automation("Create Inbox rule", () => {
  outlook.createMessageRule({
    displayName: "Flag customers",
    sequence: 1,
    isEnabled: true,
    conditions: { subjectContains: ["customer"] },
    actions: { assignCategories: ["Customers"] },
  })
})
```

## Inputs

Pass `{ displayName: "Flag customers", sequence: 1, isEnabled: true, conditions: { subjectContains: ["customer"] }, actions: { assignCategories: ["Customers"] } }`. The optional second argument `{ account }` selects a Microsoft binding.

## Output

Creates and returns an Inbox rule.

Microsoft Graph requires the scopes declared by the action. IDs are opaque and should be passed through unchanged.
