# Send private message

> Send one private message to a consenting Reddit user.

  Reddit's approval for commercial Data API access. You can connect a Reddit
  account after the integration is approved and enabled.

`reddit.sendPrivateMessage` send one private message to a consenting Reddit user.

## Inputs

Set `to`, `subject` (at most 100 characters), and Markdown `text`. Optional `fromSubreddit` sends as a moderated subreddit when Reddit permits it. Compatible signals are accepted. Use the optional second argument `{ account }` to select a named Reddit binding.

## Output

Returns no value. Only message recipients who explicitly consented; Reddit prohibits unsolicited automated messages. Submission is not automatically replayed.
