# Create segment

> Create a reusable Resend contact segment.

`createSegment` creates a named group for contact targeting.

```ts automations/create-resend-segment.automation.ts theme={null}
import { automation } from "automate.ax"
import { createSegment } from "automate.ax/resend"

export default automation("Create Resend segment", () => {
  createSegment({ name: "Customers" })
})
```

Non-empty `name` is required. Optional `account` selects the binding. Returns
`{ id: string; name: string; object: string }`. Preserve the stable ID when
configuration should not depend on a mutable or duplicated name.
