# Create topic

> Create a Resend subscription topic.

`resend.createTopic` create a Resend subscription topic.

import { automation } from "automate.ax"
import { resend } from "automate.ax/resend"

export default automation("Create topic", () => {
  resend.createTopic({
    name: "Newsletter",
    defaultSubscription: "opt_in",
    visibility: "public",
  })

```

Names accept up to 50 characters and descriptions up to 200. `defaultSubscription` is `opt_in` or `opt_out` and cannot be changed later. Visibility defaults to `private`. Optional second argument `{ account }` selects the Resend account binding.
