# Get contact

> Retrieve one Resend contact by ID or email address.

`getContact` loads one contact's current profile and global subscription state.

import { getContact } from "automate.ax/resend"

export default automation("Get Resend contact", () => {
  getContact({ contactId: "person@example.com" })
})
```

`contactId` accepts a Resend contact ID or email address. Optional `account`
selects the binding. Returns `id`, `object`, `email`, optional nullable
`firstName` and `lastName`, `properties`, `unsubscribed`, and `createdAt`.
Segment memberships are listed separately with `listContactSegments`.
